The Senate’s Media and National Guidance Committee, led by Senator Mohammad Dawoudieh, convened this Thursday to address the critical imperative of fortifying Jordan’s national media discourse. The meeting, which included Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani alongside representatives from state media institutions, focused on the urgent need to combat disinformation campaigns that threaten to undermine the Kingdom’s stability. Dawoudieh emphasized that in an era of regional volatility, a unified media front is essential to uphold national unity, foster public awareness, and ensure that the narrative surrounding state positions remains clear and resilient against external interference.

Central to the committee’s discussions was the role of Jordan’s diplomatic approach under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Senator Dawoudieh underscored that the Kingdom is navigating complex regional tensions with a focus on responsible diplomacy and heightened vigilance. By maintaining a state of readiness to safeguard security, Jordan continues to exert significant political influence to de-escalate regional friction. The committee concluded that during these exceptional times, citizens must rely exclusively on official, credible sources to navigate issues of national security, praising the government’s current proactive measures to address these mounting challenges.

The committee reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause as the bedrock of Jordanian foreign policy. Dawoudieh stressed that the protection of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites remains a non-negotiable priority for the Kingdom. Beyond diplomatic efforts, the state remains dedicated to bolstering the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. This commitment serves as a cornerstone of Jordan’s broader national strategy, reflecting a long-standing policy that integrates the defense of regional justice with the maintenance of internal stability and national identity.

Minister Mohammad Momani outlined the government’s comprehensive crisis management strategy, which prioritizes a balanced approach aimed at mitigating the impact of regional instability on the domestic front. By shielding the national economy and ensuring the continuity of public life, the government seeks to minimize disruptions for the citizenry. Momani clarified that any measures taken by the state are informed strictly by rigorous security assessments and national requirements, ensuring that the government’s response remains proportional to the evolving geopolitical climate.

A significant portion of the session was dedicated to the government’s media policy, which Momani defined as a proactive defense against the proliferation of rumors and misleading reports. The strategy is built upon the pillars of transparency and the provision of accurate information to sustain public trust in state institutions. Through ongoing media literacy programs and strategic awareness campaigns, the government aims to empower citizens to discern fact from fiction. Momani noted that public awareness and internal unity act as the primary defense against malicious attempts to incite division within the Jordanian social fabric.

In his concluding remarks, Minister Momani paid tribute to the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the nation’s security agencies, highlighting their exceptional efficiency and readiness in defending the Kingdom’s borders and sovereign airspace. He affirmed that the preservation of national security is a shared responsibility, bolstered by the state’s continued investment in the capabilities of its defense institutions. By fostering a high degree of synergy between official media communication and the military’s operational vigilance, the government remains confident in its ability to protect Jordan’s sovereignty regardless of the intensity of regional developments.
