Karnataka Combats the Surge of Fake News: 247 Cases Registered Across the State, Bengaluru Leads with 99

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing the Legislative Council, highlighted the government’s multi-pronged approach to tackling this issue. He emphasized the establishment of Social Media Monitoring Cells (SMMCs) at both the district and police station levels. Other districts with a substantial number of cases include Shivamogga (10), Dakshina Kannada (7), Chikkamagaluru (7), and Udupi (5).
