Lee’s actions, in particular, highlight a disturbing trend among Republican politicians. Once considered a conservative intellectual, Lee has embraced conspiracy theories, promoted misinformation, and now engaged in inflammatory online trolling in the aftermath of a deadly attack. His descent serves as a microcosm of the broader shift within the Republican Party, where inflammatory rhetoric and the amplification of disinformation have become normalized.
