Kenyan Catholic Sisters Launch Communications Network with Ambitious Strategic Plan
NAIROBI, KENYA – The Catholic Sisters Communications Network (CNCS) of Kenya has officially launched its first strategic plan, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for amplifying the voices and showcasing the transformative work of Catholic Sisters across the country. The 2025-2030 strategic plan aims to bolster the visibility of the Sisters’ diverse ministries and empower them with modern communication tools to enhance their public witness. This landmark initiative underscores the Sisters’ commitment to leveraging communication for greater impact and fostering unity within their global community.
The launch event, held in Nairobi, brought together Catholic Sisters, stakeholders, and partners who celebrated the network’s establishment and expressed unwavering support for its mission. Sister Pasilisa Kangogo, a member of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart (DSH) and integral to the CNCS, emphasized the profound significance of the communications network. She highlighted its potential to unite stakeholders in a shared mission of showcasing the often-unseen yet vital contributions of Catholic Sisters. Sister Kangogo further elaborated on the strategic plan’s grounding in the core values of the Catholic Church, emphasizing the importance of communicating truth and amplifying the positive impact of the Sisters’ work.
The CNCS Board Chairperson, also at the helm of the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK), echoed the collective optimism surrounding the strategic plan. Anne Njoroge, Grants Manager for the Sisters Blended Value Project (SBVP) at Strathmore University, expressed deep admiration for the far-reaching impact of Catholic Sisters within Kenyan communities. She praised their profound and enduring influence, highlighting the SBVP’s collaborative efforts with the CNCS. The SBVP, backed by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is a collaborative endeavor between the Strathmore University Business School (SBS) and the Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA). The project, spanning Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Tanzania, empowers Catholic Sisters in developing self-sustaining social enterprises.
