India Denounces Pakistan’s Disinformation Campaign Amidst Operation Sindoor
New Delhi – In the wake of Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory military operation launched by the Indian Army following the tragic Pahalgam killings, India has vehemently condemned what it describes as a "full-blown disinformation offensive" orchestrated by Pakistan. The Indian government asserts that Pakistan is actively disseminating fabricated narratives, manipulating digital platforms, and employing outdated imagery to distort the reality of the situation and control the narrative surrounding the conflict.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) issued a statement on Wednesday, accusing Pakistan of engaging in a systematic campaign to spread false information and mislead the public. The statement highlights the proliferation of fabricated stories of Pakistani military victories and heroic retaliations across social media platforms, primarily originating from pro-Pakistan handles and even influential political figures. The I&B statement further dismissed claims of an attack on Srinagar airbase, the destruction of an Indian Brigade Headquarters, and purported Indian Air Force losses as complete fabrications.
