In a rapidly shifting digital landscape, European social media platform eYou has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 100,000 users just eight weeks after its public launch. Built on a foundation of transparency, source credibility, and a rigorous defense against misinformation, the application has captured an engaged audience by positioning itself as the antithesis of traditional Big Tech social media. Unlike competitors that rely on addictive algorithms to keep users glued to their screens, eYou empowers its community, allowing individuals to customize their news feeds and maintain sovereignty over their digital experience.

The platform’s growth is all the more remarkable for being entirely organic; the startup has not spent a single euro on marketing since its inception. This grassroots success has been orchestrated by a lean team of just four people, led by the platform’s two founders. Current analytics reveal a highly active user base, particularly across Romania, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. On average, users spend 45 minutes on the platform daily, engaging in 7.7 sessions per day, with an impressive 43% retention rate, figures that suggest a strong market appetite for a more ethical social media alternative.

To build on this momentum, eYou is officially integrating video content into its interface. However, the company is careful to maintain its founding principles, ensuring that this new feature does not transition the platform into the “endless scroll” model that has become synonymous with digital fatigue. Grégoire Vigroux, co-founder of eYou, noted that reaching 100,000 users without this widely consumed content format serves as proof that the public is seeking a different, more intentional kind of social media experience.

The integration of video is underpinned by the same strict, AI-powered fact-checking systems that the platform currently employs for written text. Before any video goes live, the system automatically analyzes both audio and visual content to ensure factual accuracy. Additionally, the platform provides automatic transcription to improve accessibility for all users. Reflecting the founders’ commitment to user autonomy, the interface allows individuals to completely disable video from their feed if they prefer a text-centric experience, ensuring that the platform serves the user, rather than the other way around.

Looking toward the future, eYou has set an ambitious target of reaching one million users within the next twelve months. To fuel this expansion, the startup is nearing the completion of a €1.3 million seed funding round. With over half of the capital already secured from a mix of venture capital firms and private investors, the company plans to focus its scaling efforts on its primary high-growth markets: Germany, France, and Romania. These funds will be instrumental in hardware and software scaling as the company prepares to solidify its place as a leading European alternative to American-dominated social networks.

Founded in 2026, eYou was designed to be fully compliant with stringent European data protection standards and to prioritize human experience over engagement metrics. By incorporating its “Pulse” feature—a real-time news feed verified by the international network of Agence France-Presse (AFP)—and maintaining transparent moderation policies, eYou is establishing a new paradigm. By putting people back in control of their algorithms, the platform continues to challenge the status quo, proving that responsible, reliable social media can achieve rapid, large-scale growth in the digital age.
