Vienna Uncovers Russian Disinformation Network Targeting Austrian Public Opinion
Austrian authorities have uncovered a sophisticated Russian disinformation network operating within the country, aiming to manipulate public opinion against Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The network, active since shortly after the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, utilized a blend of online and offline tactics to disseminate pro-Kremlin narratives and sow discord within Austrian society.
