Ministry of Education Exposes Fraudulent Social Media Page Spreading Disinformation

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a deceptive social media page falsely claiming to represent the ministry. This fraudulent page has been disseminating misleading and damaging information, including unsubstantiated allegations of leaked examination papers and inappropriate content. The individual or individuals operating the page appear to be deliberately attempting to tarnish the reputation of the ministry and undermine public trust, both domestically and internationally. MEHRD officials have confirmed that the page is using an older design from a previous ministry profile, likely in an attempt to increase its credibility and deceive unsuspecting viewers.

The senior management team of the MEHRD has categorically stated that any and all content circulating on this fraudulent page is entirely fabricated and does not originate from the ministry. They urge the public to exercise extreme caution and refrain from engaging with the page in any way. This includes avoiding sharing its content, liking its posts, or participating in any discussions initiated by the page’s administrators. Ignoring the page and its false information is crucial to prevent the spread of disinformation and protect the integrity of the ministry’s work.

The MEHRD strongly condemns the motives behind this disinformation campaign. The deliberate dissemination of false information, especially concerning sensitive matters like examination integrity, has the potential to cause significant harm and disrupt the educational process. The ministry views these actions as a malicious attempt to undermine public confidence in the education system and create unnecessary anxiety among students, parents, and educators.

The ministry is taking active steps to address this issue and is working closely with relevant authorities to identify and hold accountable the individual or individuals responsible for creating and operating the fraudulent page. Cybersecurity experts and law enforcement agencies are being engaged to investigate the source of the disinformation and pursue appropriate legal action. The MEHRD is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency and will not tolerate any attempts to damage its reputation or mislead the public.

The MEHRD emphasizes the importance of public vigilance in combating the spread of disinformation. Individuals are encouraged to critically evaluate information encountered online and to be wary of unofficial sources. Any suspicious social media pages or online activity should be immediately reported to the relevant authorities, including law enforcement and social media platform administrators. By working together, the public and the ministry can effectively counteract the harmful effects of disinformation and maintain a trustworthy online environment.

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development remains dedicated to its mission of providing quality education and fostering human development. The ministry is committed to transparency and accountability and encourages the public to rely on official channels for accurate and up-to-date information. The MEHRD will continue to prioritize the well-being and educational success of all students and will actively combat any attempts to undermine the integrity of the education system. Further updates on this matter will be provided through official MEHRD communication channels as they become available. The ministry encourages the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activity that may be related to this or any other attempts to spread misinformation.
