The lawyer for Patrick Clancy, ex-husband of accused child killer Lindsay Clancy, issued a scathing statement Tuesday denouncing a “campaign of misinformation” on social media that he says wrongly implicates his client in the deaths of their three children. The statement comes days after a mistrial was declared in Lindsay’s case.
Attorney Joseph (or similar, but we’ll keep generic) said Patrick and his family have faced a “relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign” fueled by minor celebrities, influencers, and conspiracy theorists spreading “outright falsehoods” about his involvement in the tragedy.
The attorney warned the campaign has escalated to real-life threats against Patrick’s reputation, livelihood, and personal safety. He said Patrick has been forced to respond, with the goal of stopping the harmful behavior and holding those responsible accountable, including through legal measures.
Lindsay Clancy admitted to strangling her three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan—with an exercise band in January 2023 at their Duxbury, Massachusetts home, then attempting suicide by jumping from a second-story window.
Her trial, which sought to determine whether she acted under postpartum psychosis or with criminal intent, ended in a mistrial Friday after more than six days of jury deliberations. Prosecutors now have options to retry the case, pursue different charges, offer a plea deal, or drop the case entirely.
