Researchers note that these contrarian videos leverage shock value and novelty to capture user attention, creating a viral environment where inaccurate health claims thrive despite their lack of scientific validity.

Dermatologists are sounding the alarm as this digital trend threatens to reverse decades of public health progress regarding skin protection. Experts warn that the skepticism surrounding sunscreen is fueling a dangerous movement that rejects conventional medical advice in favor of unregulated alternatives, such as using beef tallow or intentionally engaging in unprotected tanning.
