Cherkasy to Host EU Disinformation Debunking Workshop for Journalists, Educators, and Activists
CHERKASY, UKRAINE – The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine is hosting a two-day capacity-building workshop titled "Debunking disinformation on the European Union and the EU’s support to Ukraine: fact-checking Workshop" on May 7-8 in Cherkasy. This intensive training event aims to equip journalists, educators, and civil society activists with the skills and knowledge necessary to combat disinformation surrounding the EU and its support for Ukraine, particularly in the context of ongoing Russian propaganda efforts. The workshop will provide participants with practical tools and techniques for verifying information, analyzing disinformation narratives, and developing effective counter-strategies. Selected participants will be notified of the specific venue closer to the event date.

Dzvenyslava Shcherba, a seasoned Journalist and Analyst at Internews Ukraine, an international media development organization, will provide insights into effective communication strategies for countering disinformation narratives. The workshop will combine theoretical sessions with practical exercises, providing attendees with a hands-on learning experience. Participants will gain proficiency in using specialized tools for verifying information and will have the opportunity to apply these skills in real-world scenarios.
