Kenyan Catholic Sisters Network Unveils Strategic Plan to Amplify Global Impact

NAIROBI, KENYA – The Catholic Sisters Network of Kenya (CNCS) has launched its inaugural strategic plan, charting a course for enhanced visibility and global unity among Catholic Sisters. This ambitious roadmap, spanning from 2025 to 2030, aims to empower Sisters with modern communication skills, strengthen their public witness, and showcase the transformative impact of their work across communities. The unveiling of this strategic plan marks a pivotal moment for the CNCS, signifying a transition from a long-held dream to a tangible reality.

Sister Pascalia Kangogo, a member of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart (DSH) and a key figure in the CNCS, expressed profound pride and enthusiasm for the newly established communication network. She emphasized the shared mission uniting partners and stakeholders: to amplify the stories and initiatives of Catholic Sisters, ensuring their vital contributions are recognized and celebrated. This strategic plan, rooted in the mission of Christ and the Church’s call to communicate truth, provides a clear framework for achieving this goal. It underscores the importance of equipping Sisters with the necessary communication tools and fostering global unity to create a stronger, more impactful public presence.

The CNCS Board Chairperson, who also leads the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK), echoed Sister Kangogo’s sentiments, expressing optimism about the plan’s successful implementation. Acknowledging potential challenges, she affirmed the network’s commitment to strategizing effectively and translating aspirations into concrete achievements. The strategic plan offers a clear pathway forward, ensuring even the most ambitious journey reaches its destination. With unwavering faith, unity, and strategic action, the CNCS is prepared to overcome any obstacles and achieve its objectives.

Sister Kangogo reflected on the CNCS’s evolution, describing its journey from a shared aspiration to a tangible organization, realized through the dedicated efforts of its leadership. This strategic plan signifies a crucial step in solidifying the network’s foundation and propelling its mission forward. The CNCS is poised to make a significant impact, amplifying the voices of Catholic Sisters and showcasing their transformative work.

Anne Njoroge, Grants Manager of AOSK’s Sisters Blended Value Project (SBVP) at Strathmore University, lauded the profound and lasting impact of Catholic Sisters on communities, emphasizing the power of their voices, stories, and initiatives. Expressing gratitude for the CNCS’s collaboration with the SBVP, she highlighted the shared commitment to supporting the Sisters. The SBVP, backed by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is a collaborative initiative between Strathmore University Business School (SBS) and the Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA). Operating in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Tanzania, the project empowers Catholic Sisters to develop sustainable social enterprises, further amplifying their impact.

The launch of this strategic plan heralds a new era for the CNCS, reaffirming its dedication to empowering Catholic Sisters and ensuring their invaluable contributions resonate globally. The plan’s emphasis on communication skills development, fostering unity, and strengthening public witness promises to unlock the full potential of the Sisters’ work, creating a ripple effect of positive change across communities. This is a significant stride towards realizing the CNCS’s vision of a world where the voices and initiatives of Catholic Sisters are celebrated and their transformative power is fully harnessed.
