TAIPEI – Taiwan’s National Security Bureau has released a report revealing a dramatic surge in Chinese disinformation efforts aimed at undermining the island’s democratic institutions and eroding public trust in its close relationship with the United States. The report details a 60% increase in the dissemination of false or biased information in 2024, reaching a staggering 2.16 million instances compared to 1.33 million in 2023.
