Meta’s Shift in Content Moderation Raises Concerns About Misinformation and Monetization

ProPublica, a non-profit investigative journalism organization, identified 95 Facebook pages that regularly posted fabricated headlines, often to exploit political divisions. These pages, primarily managed from outside the US, collectively reached over 7.7 million followers. While Meta subsequently removed 81 of these pages, the incident highlights the vulnerability of the platform to manipulated content.
